The editor of "Aiofe's Kiss" explained to me that the story he wants to buy (submitted March of last year), will not be published until March 2009.

I said "thanks, but no thanks" and withdrew my story. Was I hasty?

They do take a long time, but two years seems excessive to me. I probably would have done the same, particularly if I thought the story sellable elsewhere.

Thanks.
I do think it can be sold.
Already sent it to ChiZine.

I think that would depend on your impressions of the saleability of the story elsewhere. Is this something that's been making the rounds a while, or a newer, fresher item? If the former, I'd let it go, forget all about it, and be pleasantly surprised come next March.

Well, it hasn't been making the rounds, what with me waiting a year on "Aoife's Kiss."
This is the "spiders in the womb" story you liked a lot.
I sent it to Chizine.

I've seen so many versions of this tale over the years that, if not for the content, I could easily mistake it for something of Buck's.

Get it sold!

"Ass" it is! Or at the very least, the pros say "excessive."
